A day in the life of Seochon, where the elegance of tradition meets modern aesthetics: Seochon, one of Seoul's oldest neighborhoods, preserves the layers of time rather than flashy renovations. "Seochon Hanok Archive" is a journey of personal taste and comfort, exploring the old houses imbued with the lives of others and the alleyways that connect them like threads. The true essence of this tour lies not in the main streets, but in the narrow, low alleyways barely wide enough for one person to pass through. The gray brick walls, curved roof tiles, and time-worn wooden gates create a unique hanok vibe, a feeling only found here. Beginning in the daecheongmaru (wooden veranda) of a traditional house, we explore the studios of modern artists and the simple, everyday hanoks. Sometimes, we pamper ourselves in a pharmacy, filled with the subtle scent of herbal medicine. Other times, we find artistic inspiration in an old bookstore, filled with the cozy scent of old books, or in a small, quiet gallery. The sound of the stream at the end of the alley and the tranquility of Inwangsan Mountain, found at the end of the alley, offer a perfect respite from the noise of the city. The charming cafes renovated from hanoks and the vibrant traditional market scene also add to the unique charm of Seochon, where the past and present coexist. The hanoks here are not stuffed relics, but living, breathing, and ever-changing spaces of life. As you stroll through the alleys of Seochon, basking in the sunlight streaming through the tiled roofs, you'll soon discover the most intimate side of Seoul.
